Prime Minister Modi on Monday, May 27 took to Twitter to pay his tribute to his former Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru on his death anniversary. This is Nehru's 55th death anniversary. He said that on his death anniversary, nation remembers contribution of Nehru to country and society.

After landslide victory of Prime Minister Modi in Lok Sabha elections 2019 in which party won 303 seats and became first n-Congress party in India's history to bag such a huge number of seats. On May 27, Prime Minister is also set to visit his constituency in Varanasi, Uttar Presh from where he won general elections.

Nehru emerged as an eminent leer of Indian independence movement under tutel of Mahatma Gandhi and served India as Prime Minister from its establishment as an independent nation in 1947 until his death on May 27, 1964. A staunch vocate of socialism, secularism and democracy Pandit Nehru, he was also one of important leers from India’s freedom movement against British rule.
