Priyanka Gandhi asks Congress workers to not be disheartened by exit polls after prediction shows majority for the BJP-led NDA

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Monday sought to bolster the morale of party workers by asking them to not be disheartened by "rumours" and exit poll results and urged them to be alert at their respective booths.

Issuing a recorded audio message for Congress workers, she said they should not fall prey to "rumours and exit poll trends which are being promoted to undermine the spirits of Congresspersons." 
 

"Don't be disheartened with rumours and exit polls. These are crafted to undermine your spirits. Because of all this your alertness becomes all the more important. Be on your guard on strong rooms and counting centres. We are sure our and your hard work will bear fruit," Priyanka said in the message.

Most exit polls have predicted a majority for the BJP-led NDA, leaving the UPA far behind.

Earlier on the last day of election campaigning, Congress' General Secretary for UP East Priyanka Gandhi Vadra took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing a rally in Mirzapur in the state, and called him the "biggest actor of the world". She went on to compare him with Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, telling the crowd that it would have been better if they would have elected Amitabh Bachchan as their Prime Minister.

Ab aap samajh lijiye ke apne duniye ke sabse bade abhineta ko apna PM bana diya hai, is se accha toh aap Amitabh Bachchan ko hi bana dete, karna toh kisi ne kuch nahi tha aapke liye. (Now you can understand that you have made the biggest actor in the country, your Prime Minister. It would have been better if you would have made Amitabh Bachchan (your PM). Anyway, no one would have done anything for you. Now the situation has come that the election is here once again)," the Congress leader said addressing the Mirzapur rally.
