Another meeting is scheduled with the Congress senior leader, Dixit, at her residence in Delhi on Thursday. However Rajpal was seeking time to meet with Congress General Secretary from Uttar Pradesh East Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, but due to non-availability, he has not been able to meet her yet.
Rajpal Yadav's intent to contest the Lok Sabha elections on a Congress ticket comes days after a long back-and-forth between the AAP and the Congress over forming an alliance in the national capital. While Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal was keen on an alliance in Delhi to take on BJP, Congress president Rahul Gandhi gave the ultimatum against an alliance.

Stating that he is healthy and happy, he expressed keenness on going back to work in films. It was in November 2018 that the Delhi High Court sentenced him to three months in prison for non-repayment of a loan of Rs 5 crore that his company took to produce a film in 2010.
In 2014, Manoj Tiwari emerged victorious with almost six lakh votes in a contest against Congress' Jai Prakash Aggarwal from the North East Delhi constituency.
