Tamil film actor Sivakarthikeyan voted despite his name missing from voters’ list, EC orders action against polling booth officials

News h spre like wildfire that Sivakarthikeyan’s name was t on voters’ list in Chennai during second phase of Lok Sabha polls on April 18. However, actor’s picture moments later me everyone believe that problem got resolved. w, it has emerged that actor voted despite his name missing from electoral rolls.  Election Commission has accepted re was a ‘mistake’ on part of officials at booth and action has been ordered over it.

"Sivakarthikeyan's name was t on voter's list. He has voted despite that. This is a mistake on part of polling booth officials present re. I have ordered for action against m," Tamil Nu Chief Electoral Officer Sathyabrata Sahoo was quoted as saying to reporters at Secretariat. 

Sivakarthikeyan and wife Aarthi h gone to Good Shepherd School polling booth in Valasaravakkam to cast ir votes. actor’s name was missing while latter’s name was present on list. He is reported to have come back after some time and was allowed to cast his vote. As per reports, he said that he acquired ‘special permission’ to vote. He h n tweeted picture of his inked finger and written, “Voting is your right and fight for your right.” 

As per reports, ar actor Srikanth too faced same situation as his wife’s Vandana’s name was in list, but his name was missing when y went to vote at  Saligramam Kavery School. ‘Nanban’ actor reportedly said he was issued an election ID and he was allowed to vote. He ded that his polling booth was different as his dress on his Ahaar card was different.

Actors like Ramesh Kanna and Robo Shankar too faced same situation but unlike Sivakarthikeyan, Srikanth, y were t allowed to vote.

Previously, Ram Charan’s mor-in-law Shobana Kamineni h lashed out after her name was t in voters’ list. Rahul Dravid was among ors who couldn’t vote after failing to get his name included in list after a change of dress.
