"There’s no GST on leveling allegations. He ( Lalu Prasad Yadav) is in jail because of legal proceedings and court’s verdict. He must answer the people of the country. We have not kept him in jail. These allegations are futile."

Earlier on Saturday, Rabri had alleged that the central government is trying to kill her husband Lalu Yadav by poisoning him, while he is in jail. Her comments came after the family was denied to meet Lalu Yadav on Saturday.

"They did not even let his own son meet him on Saturday. They only allow three people to meet him every week. If something happens to Laluji then the people will take to the streets. If the state and Central government wants to kill him by poisoning, if they want to kill entire Lalu family, they can do that, this kind of dictatorship won't work," he said.

The probe agency had earlier said that in any case Lalu Yadav has been in a hospital ward for over eight months.

"During the period in which the petitioner (Lalu Yadav) remained in hospital, he is not only granted a special paying ward with all facilities but he is virtually conducting his political activities from there which would be clear form the list of visitors," the CBI in its reply said.
