USA President Donald Trump congratulates Narendra Modi on his ‘BIG election victory’, exults, 'Great things are in store for the US-India partnership with the return of PM Modi at the helm'

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi and National Democratic Alliance achieved a historic mandate from citizens of country, United States of America President Donald Trump congratulated leer. Terming it as a ‘BIG election victory!’,  President wrote that ‘great things were in store‘ for US-India partnership under PM’s leership. He concluded that he was looking forward to continuing ir ‘important work toger.’

Trump late on Thursday tweeted, “Congratulations to Prime Minister @NarendraModi and his BJP party on ir BIG election victory! Great things are in store for US-India partnership with return of PM Modi at helm. I look forward to continuing our important work toger!” 

Earlier in day, USA ambassor to India, Ken Juster h also congratulated PM Modi, calling his feat a ‘sweeping victory’. Juster h echoed his President’s views to intensify ties with ir ‘strategic partner’ India.

Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Pakistan President Imran Khan, China President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vlimir Putin, Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani, Israel PM Benjamin Netanyahu and Sri Lankan PM Ranil Wickremesinghe h also conveyed ir congratulations to PM Modi for his victory.

Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, in a statement, shared, “President of People Republic of China, H. E. Mr.  Xi Jinping sent a letter to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi earlier today congratulating him on electoral victory of National Democratic Alliance under his leership. In letter, President Xi ted great importance he attached to development of India-China relations and his desire to work with Prime Minister Modi to take Closer Development Partnership between two countries to a new height. President Xi also expressed satisfaction at strong momentum of development in India-China relations in recent years with joint efforts of both sides.” 

"I am convinced that, as  Prime Minister of India, you will furr strengn centuries-old friendship between our peoples and all-round development of a particularly privileged strategic partnership between Russia and India," Putin said in a congratulatory mess.

counting of votes began at 8 am on May 23 in each of 542 constituencies ( Vellore Lok Sabha polls h been countermanded).    

Bharatiya Janata Party and its allies won over 350 seats. United Progressive Alliance failed to touch three figures and stood at 95 seats. Even combined tally of all or parties did t reach three-figure mark, as it constituted just 93 seats.
