Abdullah, Mufti call DDC poll trends 'encouraging' as PAGD leads in over 100 seats

As per the latest trends of the DDC poll, BJP is projected to emerge as the single-largest party leading in 76 seats, while PAGD leads in over 120+ seats

Reacting to 'encouraging' trends of DDC polls, former Chief Minister and J&K's National Conference (NC) leer Omar Abdullah expressed his gratitude to people of Jammu and Kashmir, thanking m for ir support to People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) and ir fight to restore Article 370 in UT. 

" JKPAGD is an alliance that emerged out of betrayal of people of J&K on 5th Aug 2019. We have faced every obstacle - illegal detentions, ncy threats & pressures, our candidates were locked up to stop m campaigning & from all this we are emerging victorious. All of us in PAGD are deeply indebted & grateful to people of J&K for your support at this critical juncture. We reaffirm our commitment to use all democratic & legal weapons at our disposal to continue to fight for our rights," said Abdullah.

People's Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Mehbooba Mufti also lauded PAGD cre for tirelessly working to fight ' hurdles posed by Centre', saying that alliance's victory was an indicator of citizens' stance to restore Article 370.

"I was illegally detained thrice over course of a fortnight. PAGD candidates were locked up in a government building while ors barred from canvassing. Despite all se obstacles PAGD emerged as winners. This has been a hard-earned victory for all us. Even after a split in PDP engineered by GOI & all attempts to write us off, my cre worked day & night to ensure party’s victory. I am extremely grateful to m," she said.

J&K DDC Election Results

fate of nearly 4,200 candidates for 280 District Development Council (DDC) seats in Jammu and Kashmir is currently under question as counting of votes continues in Union Territory. As per latest trends, BJP is projected to emerge as single-largest party leing in 76 seats. Meanwhile, amongst parties allied under People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD), J&K NC is leing in 64 seats, PDP in 26, CPI(M) in 5, Jammu and Kashmir People's Conference in 7,  Indian National Congress in 26 seats and JKPM in 3. Apart from PAGD, J&K Apni Party is leing in 10 and ors including Independent candidates in 55+ seats.
