AAP Releases First List For Delhi Polls, 6 of 11 Candidates are BJP, Congress Defectors

New Delhi: Aam Ami Party (AAP) on Thursday (November 21) released first list of 11 candidates for upcoming Delhi Assembly elections due February 2025.

list includes six leers from BJP and Congress , who h recently switched to Arvind Kejriwal -led party, figured in list.

names include former BJP leers Brahm Singh Tanwar (Chhatarpur), Anil Jha (Kirari), BB Tyagi (Laxmi Nagar). meanwhile, former Congress leer Zubair Chaudhary (Seelampur), Veer Singh Dhingan (Seemapuri) amd Somesh Shokeen (Matiala) are also on list.

Furrmore, Sarita Singh (Rohtas Nagar), Ram Singh Netaji (Barpur), Gaurav Sharma (Ghonda) Manoj Tyagi (Karawal Nagar) and Deepak Singhal (Vishwas Nagar) are or candidates whose names have been announced by party.

names were announced after a meeting of AAP's political affairs committee (PAC) heed by party convener Arvind Kejriwal.

elections for 70 seats in Delhi Assembly are due in February 2025.

Kejriwal said earlier that tickets for elections will be distributed based on work, public opinion and winning chances of probable.

AAP won 62 of 70 assembly seats in last elections held in 2020.
