BREAKING: Chandrababu Naidu's Oath-Taking as Andhra CM Pushed to June 12: Sources

TDP supremo was earlier scheduled to take oath on June 9.

New Delhi: N Chandrababu Naidu's swearing-in as Andhra Presh Chief Minister has been pushed to June 12 inste, as per sources cited by media reports. 

Reports suggest that Naidu's ceremony was postponed due to Prime Minister Modi and NDA cabinet's swearing-in ceremony scheduled for June 8. PM and or senior NDA leers are likely to attend mega event.

On Thursday, June 6, Naidu is likely to meet all MPs in Vijayawa and will discuss important portfolios. 

This comes a day after Naidu on Wednesday showed complete support to NDA and PM Modi and met him in Delhi on Wednesday.

"Honouring mandate given by people of our country, all NDA partners unanimously endorsed Shri  @narendramodi Ji as our coalition leer at a meeting held in Delhi today. Under his able leership, we shall all strive to ensure that our country continues to prosper and emerge as a global leer," Naidu's post on X re.

'Andhra Presh Has Won': Naidu

June 4's victory in Assembly elections 2024, resulted in Naidu's powerful political comeback, especially after former CM of state was arrested in September 2023 by State police’s CID for involvement in alleged 'Skill Development' scam. Telugu Desam Party's chief is set to become state's chief minister for fourth time after defeating YSR Congress Party's YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in recent Assembly elections.

TDP which is now a part of BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) along with Pawan Kalyan-led Jana Sena Party (JSP) secured 135 seats.

Meanwhile, Reddy's YSRCP won only 10 seats and led only in more seats as of June 5, which could be reduced to a minority with about 10 seats.

As part of sear-sharing arrangement, TDP contested in only 144 of 175 seats, while JSP and BJP fought in 21 and 10 seats respectively.

Expressing his gratitude to his supporters amid his win, Naidu on X said, "Andhra Presh has won! people of Andhra Presh have won! Today, my heart is filled with gratitude. I thank people of our state for blessing TDP-JSP-BJP alliance with an overwhelming mandate to serve m. Toger, we have won a battle to reclaim our state, and toger, we will rebuild it."
