BREAKING: NCP's First List for Maharashtra Elections Out, Ajit Pawar to contest from Baramati

New Delhi: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) faction led by Ajit Pawar on Wednesday declared first list of candidates, featuring 38 names, ahe of Maharashtra assembly elections. NCP has fielded Ajit Pawar from family bastion Baramati and Chhagan Bhujbal from Yeola.
Notably, NCP is contesting assembly elections in an alliance with Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP ) and Shiv Sena. Polling for all 288 assembly seats will be held in single phase on November 20, while results will be announced on November 23.

As election date nears, both ruling Mahayuti alliance -- comprising BJP alongside Shiv Sena ( Eknath Shinde faction) and Ajit Pawar -led NCP -- and opposition Maha Vikas Aghi (MVA) -- comprising Shiv Sena (UBT), NCP ( Shar Pawar faction), and Congress , have stepped up ir preparations.
Meanwhile, Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena faction released its first list of 45 candidates for Maharashtra assembly polls, on Tusday night. party has nominated Chief Minister Eknath Shinde from Kopri-Panchpakhi in Thane city and more than half a dozen cabinet members from ir respective seats. As per list, ruling party has re-nominated almost all MLAs who backed Shinde when he led a revolt against n-chief minister Uddhav Thackeray in June 2022.
