Congress and DMK Maintain Alliance for Upcoming Bypolls in 2019

Congress and DMK party maintain their alliance for the upcoming bypolls in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry; date of by-elections is October 21 for both states.

During a press conference, Chief Election Commissioner, Sunil Arora, anunced by-election schedules on Saturday in New Delhi. bypolls for two constituency in Tamil Nu, namely, Vikravandi and Nanguneri and Kamaraj Nagar constituency in Puducherry will take place on October 21. counting of votes will be done on October 24. schedule of voting for by-elections is same as that of Maharashtra and Haryana Polls.

By-Elections in Tamil Nu and Puducherry

bypolls is being carried out in Nanguneri constituency due to resignation of H Vasanthakumar from Congress Party after he was elected from  Kanniyakumari constituency. And vacancy in Vikravandi constituency is due to death of DMK member K Rathamani. Both DMK and Congress will be contesting for by-elections in se two constituency in upcoming polls. Congress will also be contesting for vacancy in Kamaraj Nagar constituency in Puducherry due to resignation given by V Vaithialingam from Congress party.

EC Anunces Assembly Polls Dates & Schedules

ECI officials anunced dates and schedule for Maharashtra and Haryana Legislative Assembly Polls on Saturday. polls for both states will simultaneously occur in a single phase on October 21 and polling will conclude on October 27. Maharashtra legislative assembly will expire on vember 9 and Haryana Legislative Assembly will expire on vember 2.

Issue of tification for both states - 27 September
last date of mination - 4 October
Scrutiny of mination -5 October
Withdrawal of mination- 7 October
Polling date for both states - 21 October (Single phase)
Counting of votes - 24 October
Conclusion of polls - 27 October
