Congress raises EVM bogey moments before Haryana & Maha assembly polls

Congress has resorted to raising faux-concerns right on the day when Maharashtra and Haryana go to assembly polls. On October 21, even before the voting began, senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh tweeted questioning the Election Commission of India. He said EVMs can be manipulated. He said in his tweet that voter should be able to put the printed vote from the EVM after choosing the poll candidate into the ballot box. He criticised Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora over his argument that counting ballots manually takes a lot of time.

Haryana & Maharashtra assembly polls

Polling is being on Monday to elect Maharashtra and Haryana assemblies with the BJP and its allies seeking to retain power in the two states on the back of the recent Lok Sabha polls victory, while the opposition is hoping to turn the tide by taking advantage of any anti-incumbency.
