Congress releases list of 84 candidates for Haryana Assembly polls

Congress late Wednesday night released its list for 84 candidates for the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections, fielding all its sitting MLAs except one.

Congress late Wednesday night released its list for 84 candidates for upcoming Haryana Assembly elections, fielding all its sitting MLAs except one. Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Hooda will contest from his Garhi Sampla-Kiloi seat, while party's chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala will contest from his Kaithal Assembly constituency.

Only one sitting MLA left out

Out of 17 sitting MLAs in Haryana Assembly, party fielded 16, barring Renuka Vishi who represented Hansi constituency. Both sons of former chief minister late Bhajan Lal have been fielded by party, with Kuldeep Vishi from ampur, in Hisar, and his bror and former deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan from Panchkula seat which he earlier represented. son and daughter-in-law of former chief minister Bansi Lal have also been given party tickets, with Ranveer Mahindra fielded from Bhra seat and Kiran Chaudhary from Tosham seat.

Many former ministers have been given a ticket 

Former Assembly speaker Kuldeep Sharma has been fielded from Ganaur Assembly seat, while ar former minister, Geeta Bhukkal, has been fielded from Jhajjar reserved constituency. Former minister Anand Singh Dangi has been fielded from his tritional Meham constituency. names of Haryana Congress chief Selja and former state unit chief Ashok Tanwar do t figure in this list. Elections to 90-member Haryana Assembly will be held on October 21 and results will be declared on October 24.

Also, ruling BJP on Wednesday night anunced names of remaining 12 candidates for upcoming Haryana Assembly polls, with Gurgaon legislator being among four sitting MLAs denied tickets. final list also dashed hopes of minister Rao Narbir Singh, who was denied a ticket from his Bshahpur constituency in Gurgaon district but was hopeful that party may just him on ar seat.
