Congress Releases Third List Of 40-Candidates For Haryana, Fields Nirmal Singh from Ambala City

The Congress on Wednesday released third list of 40 candidates for Haryana Assembly elections, scheduled to take place on October 5.

New Delhi: Congress on Wednesday released third list of 40 candidates for Haryana Assembly elections, scheduled to take place on October 5. results will be declared on October 8.

According to new list, party has fielded Nirmal Singh from Ambala City, Randeep Singh Surjewala's son itya Surjewala from Kaithal among ors.

After this latest list, Congress has declared a total of 81 candidates for polls to 90-member assembly. Congress has not declared candidates for nine seats, feeling speculation over a last-minute tie-up with AAP and or small outfits. Thursday is last day of filing of nominations.

Besides Surjewala, third list includes Chander Mohan from Panchkula, Akram Khan from Jaghri, Balwan Singh Daulatpuri from Fatehab, Ram Niwas Rara from Hisar, Preep Narwal from Bawani Khera (SC) and Mohamm Israil from Hathin.

Congress on Friday declared 32 candidates for polls, fielding former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda from Garhi Sampla-Kiloi, state unit chief Udai Bhan from Hodal, and wrestler Vinesh Phogat from Julana.

Singh is incumbent MLA from Israna. party declared nine candidates on Sunday. It has renominated all its 28 MLAs.

Besides Hooda, Bhan, and Phogat, Congress has also fielded Mewa Singh from Lwa to take on Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.

Congress was also engaged in seat-sharing talks with Aam Ami Party (AAP) for Haryana polls, with hard bargaining going on from both sides. However, talks hit a delock and AAP has released multiple lists since n.

Some Congress leers have expressed reservations over a tie-up with Arvind Kejriwal -led party.

Assembly elections in Haryana will be held on October 5 and counting of votes will be undertaken on October 8.
