In Bihar Elections poll panel, Congress swaps state chief with Surjewala as chaos reigns

Facing massive protests within party in Bihar, Congress on Sunday formed various panels for upcoming assembly polls, but didn't include BPCC president Man Mohan Jha and BPCC campaign committee chairman Akhilesh Pras Singh in it. Party general secretary Randeep Surjewala has been named chairman of election manment and coordination committee. decision to remove its own party chief in state from poll panels highlights chaos within party ahe of polls.
Out of six panels, Mohan Prakash was me conver of 14-member election manment and coordination committee. panel included senior leers like Meira Kumar, Tariq Anwar, Shatrughan Sinha, Kirti Az, Shakeel Ahmed and Sanjay Nirupam. Congress president Sonia Gandhi also approved setting up of publicity committee, media coordination committee, public meeting and logistics committee, legal committee and office manment committee. Subodh Kumar has been appointed conver of publicity committee, while Jaeya Mishra was named co-conver of panel.

Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera has been named chairman of media coordination committee for polls, while Prem Chand Mishra will be conver and Rajesh Rathor co-conver of panel. Brijesh Kumar Munan has been appointed conver of public meeting and logistics committee, while Varun Chopra has been named chairman of legal committee. party's office manment committee includes likes of Ashok Kumar and Kaukab Quri.

Congress has also released list of star campaigners which include former Speaker Meira Kumar, ex-MP Shatrughan Sinha, Ghulam Nabi Az, Priyanka Gandhi Vra, Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi. Or star-campaigners include three Congress CMs - Amarinder Singh, Bhupesh Baghel, Ashok Gehlot, Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala. list of campaigners - for phase 1 polls which will be held on October 28 - also included ex-Mumbai Congress chief Sanjay Nirupam, Sachin Pilot, Raj Babbar etc.

Chaos in Congress after first list of candidates was anunced
This comes right after party is facing criticism from its own members for giving ticket to ‘tainted and incompetent’ leers in its first list of candidates. Many leers from Bihar Presh Congress Committee (BPCC), including former state chief Chandna Bagchi and Anil Sharma std a protest at Saquat Ashram, seeking action against AICC in-charge Shaktisinh Gohil, BPCC president Man Mohan Jha and BPCC campaign committee chairman Akhilesh Pras Singh for favouring incompetent leers.

Seat-sharing formula
Congress is contesting on 70 seats in Bihar as party agreed to a seat-sharing deal of 144-70 with RJD. Three or Communist parties are also part of Mahagathbandhan and are contesting on 29 seats. Tejashwi Yav has been declared its CM face. Bihar will vote in 3 phases - October 28, vember 3, and vember 7, with results being declared on vember 10.
