CPI targets Home Minister Rajnath Singh after he hints at third cross-border strike, says, "If indeed such a strike has taken place, the nation must know about it"

After Home Minister Rajnath Singh had hinted at a third surgical strike carried out by Indian forces on Saturday, the Communist Party of India's General Secretary Sudhakar Reddy has demanded that the Centre disclose all details about it.

After Home Minister Rajnath Singh had hinted at a third surgical strike carried out by Indian forces on Saturday, the Communist Party of India's General Secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy has demanded that the Centre disclose all details about it.

"What kind of a statement is this? Regarding the first two strikes everyone knows about it and there is nothing new to what Rajnath Singh is saying. But how can he talk about the third unknown strike? If indeed such a strike has taken place, the nation must know about it. How can he or the government keep a it as secret? The government should be transparent," he said.

While addressing a rally in Mangaluru in Karnataka, the Union Minister hinted that India had conducted a third surgical strike across the border.

“People know about the surgical strike of Uri and the IAF's air strike in Balakot. In fact, we have carried out three such strikes in five years. I can give you details of the two operations. But, I can't disclose details of the third mission,” Rajnath Singh said in his address.

Later as he said, "India is not weak anymore", the crowd present at the rally broke out into loud applause.

In September 2016, Indian Army had crossed the border and attacked the terror launch pads in Pakistan, weeks after terrorists had attacked an army base in Jammu & Kashmir's Uri district, killing 19 soldiers. 

On February 26 - twelve days after the Pulwama terror attack - Indian Air Force had carried out its first air strike since 1971 along the LoC,  destroying the biggest terror training camp of the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).
