Delhi polls: BJP to counter Kejriwal with Hasina govt's remark on NRC

The BJP will counter Delhi CM Kejriwal's remarks on the NRC and Manoj Tiwari by publicising positive comments of the Sheikh Hasina-led Bangladesh government.

BJP is mulling a strategy to counter Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on his remarks regarding National Register of Citizens (NRC) and its Delhi unit President Maj Tiwari using Sheikh Hasina-led Banglesh government’s positive comments on issue. Kejriwal h recently launched a tire against Tiwari, alleging that Bihar born leer would be first person to leave Delhi in eventuality of NRC being conducted. reafter, Tiwari sent a legal tice to Delhi CM that his statement was "false, unverified, misleing deliberately" and me with an intention to disturb law and order. According to sources, BJP would publicise positive comments of Banglesh government and pit m against Kejriwal’s remarks.

Hasina held a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday. Subsequently, Banglesh Foreign Secretary, Shahidul Haque, stated that his nation h accepted that implementation of NRC was an internal matter of India. BJP will also focus on Kejriwal’s alleged attempt to communalize situation. A senior leer of party contended that Delhi CM h also insulted people of Bihar and Purvanchal region.

He said, " fact that Kejriwal said Tiwariji will need to leave Delhi if he implements NRC was t just a comment on him but on Biharis and Purvanchalis. His igrance about NRC is in stark contrast with what Banglesh has said on NRC."

BJP’s NRC drive

NRC has become a constant feature in speeches of Home Minister Amit Shah. necessity for conducting this process has been echoed in many BJP-ruled states such as Karnataka. As Assembly elections in Delhi are due next year, party is leaving stone unturned to wrest political power. For, it suffered a humiliating defeat in 2015, when Kejriwal-led Aam Ami Party won a whopping 66 out of total 70 seats.
