Devendra Fadnavis, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra has recently made a comment to the media that the BJP will have an 'unprecedented' win in the upcoming assembly elections. Fadnavis spoke of the huge support from the masses that he has observed during the 'Mahajanadesh Yatra', further stating that the results will come out in favour of the BJP as a consequence. The yatra so far has covered 3,000 km and has reached out to 100 constituencies, out of the total 288, in the state. The yatra has been getting a good response from people all across making the Maharashtra CM confident of the win.

'Wherever we go, the yatra is being welcomed by people and getting a huge response. Looking at the people's support, we are sure that we will get an unprecedented victory in the Assembly polls.' Fadnavis stated.

Devendra Fadnavis on the elections

In lieu of the assembly elections 2019, the CM of Maharashtra has been on the 'Mahajanadesh Yatra' to connect with the people. Fadnavis, on September 14 visited several tehsils of the Pune district as part of the third leg of the yatra. On being questioned about the big hoardings of the party put on the routes of the yatra, Fadnavis commented that they do not think that the banners are going to buy them a way out to the upcoming polls. The CM was received warmly by the people wherever he went, further enhancing the chances of the win.

Fadnavis on Aarey

The CM was also questioned on the decision of the axing of  2,700 trees in the Aarey forest. Over one lakh people objected to the proposal which called for a public meeting. The public meeting was attended by Zoru Darius, who was the first one to question the chopping of the trees, along with 500 other people to protest against the decision. The felling of the trees in the Mumbai Aarey colony is to happen for the construction of a car shed for the metro in the Aarey colony. Fadnavis commented on the situation stating that even though there are trees in the area, it does not come under bio-diversity nor is it a forest land. He also spoke of Japan, further adding that Japan would not have participated in this unless this would have been 'sustainable'.
