Haryana assembly election dates out: Voting & Results schedule here

The Election Commission on Saturday has announced the dates for the upcoming Assembly polls for Haryana. Polling on 90 seats of Haryana will be on Oct 21

Election Commission on Saturday has anunced dates for upcoming Assembly polls for Haryana and Maharashtra. Polling on 90 seats of Haryana will take place on October 21 and counting will take place on October 24.  Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) also anunced dates for Maharashtra state polls, which is scheduled along with Haryana's on October 21. Apart from state polls, bypolls for 64 seats across various states will also be held, anunced Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sunil Arora. term of Haryana assembly expires on vember 2, while that of Maharashtra assembly ends on vember 9.

Here is full schedule for Haryana assembly elections:

  • Gazette tification to be issued: September 27.

  • Last date of minations: October 4.

  • Date for Scrutiny of mination - October 5

  • Last Date for Withdrawal of Candidatures - October 7

  • Polling on all 90 seats: October 21

  • Results of elections: October 24

  • Conclusion of elections: October 27

CEC anunces Poll expense limit and verifies poll-preparedness

Anuncing poll expense for state elections, CEC set cap as Rs 28-lakh for each candidate in both  states. CEC Arora also emphasized on use of environment-friendly materials for campaigning. "re is a Rs 28 lakh-cap on poll expense on each candidate. We appeal candidates to use environment-friendly materials. We reassure all stakeholders about quality of electronic voting machines," Arora said.

On poll preparedness of states, he ded: "Both Haryana and Maharashtra are sound-fitting in terms of poll preparation. All s are arrangements are being me for voters. Candidates will require to fill all columns in ir poll form. Election Commission is privileged to play a role in democracy."

BJP, Congress begins poll-campaign

Earlier this month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched BJP's poll campaign for state.  Prime Minister said that Chief Minister Mahar Lal Khattar has “mammoth support” and that it shows “direction of wind”. PM said he is confident of victory as people of state have always given full support to BJP.  Prime Minister kicked off BJP’s campaign in Rohtak. On  or side, Congress has constituted a new state Congress team, led by PCC chief Kumari Selja and CLP leer Bhupinder Singh Hooda. Congress’ campaign is likely to focus on agrarian crisis and ecomic slowdown in Haryana’s industrial and auto hubs.
