Haryana Polls: Ex-BSF jawan Tej Bahadur to contest against CM Khattar

Tej Bahadur Yadav, the former BSF constable, will now be contesting against Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar from Karnal constituency in the upcoming polls

Tej Bahadur Yadav, the BSF constable who lost the Lok Sabha polls against Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the Varanasi constituency, will now be contesting against Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar from Karnal constituency in the upcoming Haryana assembly polls scheduled to happen on October 21. The BSF constable who joined Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) last month will be contesting on the party's ticket.

Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) released its fourth list of candidates on Thursday. The list also included the name of Tej Bahadur Yadav, who was dismissed from service after he had released a video in 2017 complaining about the food quality of the soldiers.

JJP chief to contest from Uchana Kalan

JJP chief Dushyant Chautala will contest the assembly polls from Uchana Kalan. The party has fielded Gurpal Singh Majra (Ambala Cantt), Harpal Singh Kamboj (Ambala City), Amarnath Baggan (Mulana), Arjun Singh (Jagadhari), Shailesh Tyagi (Yamuna Nagar), Santosh Dahiya (Ladwa), Ishwar Palaka (Shahabad), Yogesh Sharma (Thanesar), Dayananda Urlana (Israna), Bharampal Rawal (Samalkha), Randhir Malik (Ganaur) and Ajit Antil (Rai) Other candidates include Pawan Kharkhoda (Kharkhoda), Bhupender Malik (Baroda), Dayanand Kundu (Safidon), Manju Bazigar (Ratia), Sardar Nirmal Singh (Kalanwali), Kuldeep Kariwala (Rania), OP Sihag (Ellenabad), Rahul Makkar (Hansi), Alka Arya (Loharu), Hargian Singh Mokhra (Mehem), Rajender Valmiki (Kalanaur), Malkhan Singh (Rewari), Satbir Tawar (Hodal), Islamuddin (Badhkal), Suresh Verma (Ballabhgarh) and Pardeep Choudhary (Tigaon).

Haryana to vote on October 21

Out of 90 Haryana assembly seats, 17 are reserved for the Scheduled Caste (SC) and none for the Scheduled Tribe (ST). The nomination filing process in Haryana began from September 27 and will go on till the last date on October 4. The scrutiny process will happen on October 5. Withdrawal of applications is allowed until October 7. The state of Haryana and Maharashtra will vote in a single phase on October 21 and the counting of votes will take place on October 24.
