Jharkhand Election Results LIVE: Chief Minister Hemant Soren's Wife, Kalpana Soren is Leading

Jharkhand Election Results 2024 LIVE Updates: Counting of votes in the state of Jharkhand is taking place today as Jharkhand Assembly Election results are being declared. In Jharkhand, the voting was conducted in two phases - 13th November and 20th November. 

There are 81 Assembly seats, out of which 30 are considered key constituencies. The contest is between the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) led INDI alliance and Bharatiya Janta Party ( BJP ) led NDA alliance. 

The current chief minister of the state, Hemant Soren, belongs to JMM. JMM has fielded its own candidates in 41 seats. Hemant Soren is contesting from the constituency of Barhait. His wife, Kalpana Soren is contesting from the constituency of Gandey. His brother, Basant Soren is contesting from Dumka.

The opposition i.e. the BJP, has fielded its own candidates in 68 seats. One of BJP's key leaders in the state is the former CM Babulal Marandi, who is contesting from Dhanwar. He is BJP's Jharkhand Unit President. He was also the state's first CM.

Live Updates:

• 5:00 PM : JMM's Kalpana Soren is leading by 13,056 votes. She has secured 1,11,618 votes as of now. BJP's Muniya Devi has secured 98,562 votes. 
• 2:00 PM : The tables have turned. JMM's Kalpana Soren is leading now and BJP's Muniya Devi is trailing her.
• 12:30 PM: BJP's Muniya Devi is now leading by 1,685 votes. She has secured 31,714 votes as of now, whilst Kalpana Soren has secured 30,029 votes.  
• 11: 40 AM : BJP's Muniya Devi is leading. She has secured 27,485 votes. She has a lead of 3,621 votes. The CM's wife, Kalpana Soren, is trailing at 2nd place. She has secured 23,864 votes, as of now. 
• 8 AM : Counting has begun in Jharkhand. In Gandey, the contest is between JMM's Kalpana Soren, the current CM Hemant Soren's wife and BJP's Muniya Devi.
