Lok Sabha 2019 Election Dates: Counting to be held on 23 May - Here's the full schedule for the 2019 Parliamentary polls for all phases as announced by the Election Commission

The countdown to 2019 Lok Sabha elections officially began on Sunday, March 10, with the announcement of dates of elections by the Election Commission of India at a press briefing in Delhi. The General elections will be held for 543 Lok Sabha seats on nearly 10 lakh polling booths across the country which higher compared to 9 lakh in 2014, with 84 million more voters will be casting their vote this time, announced the CEC Sunil Arora.

The applicability of the Election Commission's Model Code of Conduct will commence from today, March 10, as announced by the Chief Election Commission. This is scheduled to regulate political parties and political candidates before the elections. The rules apply to issues relating speeches, polling day, booth, the content of election manifestos and a general code. This code of conduct stays in force from the date of announcement to the day of result. 

Election is going to take place in seven phases instead of 9 as compared to 2014 elections. Here is the full schedule of the seven phases of General Elections 2019:

Phase 1:

Last date of nomination: March 25 (Monday)

Date for Scrutiny of nominations: March 26

Last date of withdrawal of nominations: March 28

Last date of polling: April 11

Date of counting: May 23

This phase will see 91 seats from 20 states going into polls:
