Assam: INDI Bloc in Doldrums Over Seat-Sharing, AAP, TMC, CPIM skip United Opposition Forum Event

The INDI Alliance is still in a deadlock over seat sharing in Assam as the Congress has decided to contest from 13 out of 14 seats.

Guwahati:  INDI Alliance is still in a delock over seat sharing in Assam as Congress has decided to contest from 13 seats out of 14 not sparing a single seat for CPIM, TMC and Aam Ami Party (AAP) in particular. mood of se three parties now seems to fight solo in upcoming Lok Sabha elections. 

CPIM has alrey fielded its candidate in Barpeta constituency, where even Congress has declared a candidate. Similarly, Aam Ami Party, which withdrew its candidate from Guwahati, asked for a reciprocal from Congress in Tezpur and Dibrugarh.

However, Congress seems to be in no mood for any kind of reciprocation in Tezpur, whereas, Dibrugarh Lok Sabha has been given by Congress to Asom Jatiya Parish President Lurinjyoti Gogoi. Trinamool too wants to contest from Silchar, Karimganj and Lakhimpur but in all se three seats, Congress has alrey declared its candidates.  

Amidst this, on Wednesday, United Opposition Forum of Assam called for an important press conference, where Assam in-charge of Congress, General Secretary Jitendra Singh Alwar, released a booklet with charges against ruling BJP- both at Center and Assam in particular.

meeting, interestingly, was skipped by AAP, TMC and CPIM. When asked about ir absence, Congress leers as well as or members of forum failed to give a clear answer. 

Jitendra Singh Alwar said that unity of forum is intact, however, he failed to come clear on failing seat-sharing arrangement. “We will not give up hope till last date of withdrawal of nominations,” said Bhupen Bora, APCC President as Jitendra Singh fumbled, searching for words.

When asked by Republic Media Network, how confident Jitendra Singh Alwar was, that those sharing dias with him would not abandon opposition or Congress, he couldn't give a clear answer, giving an insight to media on lack of trust among Congress and opposition leership. 

With Congress party not willing to give up a single seat for INDI partners and inste expecting ors to leave same for m is being seen as a bully by political commentators in state.
