New Delhi: Kulwinder Kaur, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) constable who allegedly slapped Kangana Ranaut at the Chandigarh airport for 'disrespecting farmers' has been arrested. Besides, a police case has been filed against Constable Kulwinder Kaur, who has also been suspended, following allegations that she slapped Ranaut on Thursday. The incident occurred while the actor was on her way to board a flight to Delhi.
Who Is Kulwinder Kaur?
Constable Kulwinder Kaur hails from Sultanpur Lodhi in Punjab and has been serving at Chandigarh Airport for the past two years. She is married to another CISF personnel, and together they have two children. Her brother, Sher Singh, is a prominent figure, holding the position of organization secretary of the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee, reflecting the family's close ties to the agricultural community in Punjab.

What Happened at Chandigarh Airport?
The incident occurred at the Security Hold Area (SHA) during a security check when Kangana Ranaut was attended to by CISF constable Kulwinder Kaur. Following the frisking process, a verbal altercation broke out, leading to Kaur slapping Ranaut. Kaur later explained that she was provoked by derogatory remarks Ranaut had made about Punjabi women during the farmers' agitation against the three farm laws.
Kangana Ranaut has announced her intention to file a complaint with the Home Ministry in Delhi. Despite the incident, she boarded her flight, which departed at 4:10 PM. Meanwhile, Kulwinder Kaur is under the supervision of the CISF commandant as the investigation continues.

Kangana Issues Statement
Kangana Ranaut took to social media platform X to issue a statement, revealing that she was hit on the face and verbally abused by a CISF woman constable during a security check at Chandigarh airport. In a video titled "Shocking rise in terror and violence in Punjab," she expressed her safety but also her concern over increasing terrorism in Punjab.
Ranaut, who issued the statement after landing in Delhi, recounted the event, stating that the constable approached her from the side, hit her on the face, and began abusing her. When Ranaut asked for an explanation, Kaur reportedly said she supported the farmers' protests.

Kangana Ranaut was elected to the Lok Sabha from the Mandi constituency in Himachal Pradesh, defeating her nearest Congress rival by over 74,000 votes.
