Exclusive/ Congress May Lose Deposits In Amethi, Smriti Irani Tells Arnab

New Delhi: Congress will likely lose ir security deposit in Amethi, Union Minister of Women and Child Development and BJP leer Smriti Irani asserted, while speaking exclusively with Republic Media Network's Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami on Wednesday. Asserting that Congress is currently “suffering from disease called communism”, Irani said, “This party has not only looted Hindus but also tried to fool Muslims of our country”.

Stressing furr that an Indian “can't be a minority in his own country”, minister furr questioned rationale behind Congress claim that one specific religion – over ors – h first right to India's resources. “Who gave Congress authority to declare that every Indian's hard-earned money will not only be counted but also taken over and redistributed how this party desires?”, she lamented.

Congress, particularly Gandhi family, through ir history of governance, have shown that y believe that party's “first family has right to property earnings of every Indian family”, BJP leer told Republic.

Responding to a question on speculation around Robert Vra being potential face of Congress from Amethi, union minister underlined that “anybody can fight an election” in a democracy, even as she quipped, “ family will decide wher Jijaji [Robert Vra] will get ticket or Saale Sahab [Rahul Gandhi] will”.

Earlier on Tuesday, Irani h described Congress and its leer Rahul Gandhi as "anti-Sanatan" and "anti-national" while alleging that y have always worked to weaken Hindus.

dressing election meetings in Amethi where she is seeking a re-election to Lok Sabha, she h reportedly said, "While opposing Hindutva, y also opposed Lord Ram and rejected invitation to attend consecration ceremony of Ram Lala idol in Ayodhya. one that does not belong to Ram is of no use."

"Be it Rahul (Gandhi), Priyanka or Congress, y are not only anti-Sanatan but also anti-nationals. se people have me person who h talked about breaking India into pieces candidate of ir party," news agency PTI h quoted BJP leer as saying.

Asserting that Rahul Gandhi and Congress have always worked to weaken Sanatan and Hindus, Irani stated that Gandhi family did nothing for development of Amethi, while highlighting that development works in parliamentary constituency were done under leership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Irani has wrested Amethi from former Congress president Rahul Gandhi.

Notably, Congress has not yet declared its candidate from Amethi.

Voting in Amethi will be held in fifth phase on May 20.
