The much-awaited results of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections for the union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh will be declared today. The counting of votes began at 8 AM, covering crucial constituencies, including Udhampur and Jammu parliamentary seats in Jammu and Kashmir. This election will decide the fate of 100 candidates, including senior BJP leader and Union Minister Jitendra Singh, as well as former chief ministers Omar Abdullah of the National Conference (NC) and Mehbooba Mufti of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Voter Turnout and Significance:
Officials reported a combined voter turnout (VTR) of 58.46 percent across the union territories, marking the highest poll participation in the last 35 years. The voter turnout in the Kashmir Valley's three parliamentary constituencies witnessed a significant increase, jumping to 50.86 percent from 19.16 percent in the 2019 general elections. Breakdown of voter turnout in the Kashmir Valley:
