PM-Designate Modi's First Message for Would-Be Ministers

New Delhi: As several newly-elected MPs on Sunday convened at Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi’s residence at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg in the national capital over a tea meeting, the NDA head laid down a 100-day action plan in front of the probable faces of the new Cabinet, for his third term which will begin after his swearing-in ceremony this evening.
Leaders from several parties under the NDA fold marked their presence at the meeting. Modi asked the leaders to focus on the unfinished tasks at hand. He suggested that they don't waste time in analyzing the election results and get going with the action plan.

Several leaders, including Nirmala Sitharaman, Sarbananda Sonowal, Piyush Goyal, S Jaishankar, Dharmendra Pradhan, Chirag Paswan, Rajnath Singh, RLD Chief Jayant Singh Chaudhary, G Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay attended the meet. BJP leaders Jyotiraditya Scindia, Manohar Lal Khattar, Raksha Khadse, Nityanand Rai, Harsh Malhotra Bhagirath Choudhary and JDS leader HD Kumaraswamy were also among the attendees at the meeting. BJP leaders Jitin Prasada, Ravneet Singh Bittu also arrived at 7, LKM this morning.
Though the BJP emerged as the single largest party with winning 240 seats in the recently-concluded elections, it fell short of majority mark of the 272 seats in the 543-members House. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) unanimously passed a resolution to elect Narendra Modi as their leader on June 5.
The BJP-led NDA will form the government at the Centre with the support of its allies with TDP and JD(U) being the major ones with 28 seats altogether. The NDA seat tally now stands at 293. This will be the third consecutive term of Narendra Modi as India’s Prime Minister. Modi will be sworn-in at 7.15 pm today along with his council of ministers in a ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. The event will be witnessed by several world leaders including Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu, Sri Lanka President Ranil Wickremesinghe among others.
Meanwhile, heavy security has been deployed near the venue where the grand event will take place. Traffic restrictions have also been imposed in parts of Delhi to facilitate VVIP movement in the city. Around 1,100 traffic police personnel of the Delhi Police have been deployed to thwart any untoward incident.
