West Bengal Lok Sabha Elections Result 2024: Lok Sabha election for 42 seats in West Bengal that commenced on April 19 concluded on June 1, with polling split in all seven phases. Though exit poll results painted a positive picture for BJP, final result will decide fate of parties and ir candidates on June 4. counting of votes will begin at 8 am, but Republic TV will launch extensive coverage of election results from 6 am onwards to keep viewers aware of overall election scenario.

West Bengal remains a key battleground for BJP and ruling TMC as both parties have been at loggerhes since 2021 Assembly elections. From CM Mamata Banerjee to Leer of Opposition Suvendu hikari, Lok Sabha polls campaign witnessed fiery speeches, electioneering and slogans from both camps.

Notably, TMC decided to contest all 42 seats independently despite being part of INDI bloc. Congress and CPI(M) are jointly contesting against TMC and BJP in state.

TMC's Lok Sabha polls campaign relied heavily on an ‘outsiders’ charge on opponents along with fearmongering on CAA, NRC and UCC, while BJP played law and order ‘collapse' card citing Sandeshkhali issue.

West Bengal Elections 2024: Date of Polls

In West Bengal, 30 seats were reserved for general category, 10 for Scheduled Caste (SC) and two for Scheduled Tribes (ST). polling process was held in all seven phases for 42 seats.

Phase 1 (April 19): Coochbehar, Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri
Phase 2 (April 26): Darjeeling, Raiganj and Balurghat
Phase 3 (May 7): Maldaha Uttar, Maldaha Dakshin, Jangipur and Murshidab
Phase 4 (May 13): Baharampur, Krishnanagar, Ranaghat, Bardhaman Purba, Bardhaman-Durgapur, Asansol, Bolpur and Birbhum
Phase 5 (May 20): Bangaon, Barrackpur, Howrah, Uluberia, Sreerampur, Hooghly and Arambag
Phase 6 (May 25): Tamluk, Kanthi, Ghatal, Jhargram, Medinipur, Purulia, Bankura and Bishnupur
Phase 7 (June 1): Dum Dum, Barasat, Basirhat, Jaynagar, Mathurapur, Diamond Harbour, Javpur, Kolkata Dakshin and Kolkata Uttar

West Bengal Elections 2024: Date of results

Along with or states and UTs, result for West Bengal Lok Sabha election will be declared on June 4 to determine final electoral outcome.

West Bengal Elections 2024: Key Faces

main political parties in state are TMC, BJP and coalition of Congress and Left. Several notable candidates from all parties are on electoral battlefield including Abhishek Banerjee from Diamond Harbour for TMC, Mahua Moitra from Krishnanagar for TMC, Amrita Roy from Krishnanagar for BJP, and Abhijit Gangophyay from Tamluk for BJP.

Furr, state will also witness a star battle with Dev hikari, Yusuf Pathan and Shatrughan Sinha in fray on TMC ticket. Meanwhile, BJP has also fielded several celebrity candidates including Hiranmoy Chatterjee from Ghatal.

West Bengal Elections Result: What Happened In 2019

In 2019 Lok Sabha election, TMC bagged 22 seats, while BJP me a surprising appearance, winning 18 seats. While Congress was limited to remaining two seats. 2019 Lok Sabha polls marked BJP's ascent in state, with vote share surging from 2 per cent in 2014 to 18 per cent in 2019.
