Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will go up against its own alliance in state, Shiv Sena for Kankavli constituency in Sindhudurg district. Kankavli has alrey seen temperature rise as Sena Chief slammed BJP for fielding Nitesh Rane as ir contestant after he just quit Indian National Congress (INC). BJP's Nitesh Rane is also son of former Chief Minister of Maharashtra Narayan Rane, who is struggling in his fortress of Sindhudurg district in Konkan. former Chief Minister h merged his outfit Maharashtra Swabhiman Paksha (MSP) with BJP after he quit Congress in 2017.

According to Jan ki Baat Opinion Polls in Sindhudurg's Kankavali, BJP might just have a slight edge against Sena's Satish Jagannath Singh to win seat.
Rane h earlier won 2014 Assembly seat with Congress' ticket but soon quit party and formed MSP. In upcoming state polls, while BJP has fielded Narayan's son, Nitesh Rane, Shiv Sena has given ir ticket to Satish Jagannath Sawant. Despite being in an alliance with BJP, Sena cres h strongly opposed BJP for fielding Rane soon after he quit Congress. candidates who will be locking horns with BJP and Sena cre are INC's Sushil Amrutrao Rane and MNS' Rajan Shankar Dabholkar.

Narayan Rane h served as Chief Minister of Sena-BJP government in 1999 but got expelled from Sena in 2005 for revolting against w Sena-chief Uddhav Thackeray. Later, he joined Congress and became a minister. In 2017, Rane quit Congress and formed MSP, and became an ally of BJP-led NDA. Despite being in alliance with BJP for polls, Sena fielded a former Narayan Rane loyalist from Kankavli against Nitesh.

Maharashtra is all set to go for polls on October 21. results of polls will be anunced on October 24. Along with Maharashtra, state of Haryana will also witness its Assembly polls on same date.
