On Saturday, October 19, which is last day of assembly elections campaigning, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fnavis held a mega roshow in Nagpur city to promote  BJP. CM was seen standing on top of a slow-moving vehicle with party members and appealing people to vote in favour of party. vehicle was seen decorated with flowers and banners of BJP.

Fnavis to be challenged by 19 or candidates

massive crowd cheered for CM who was accompanied by his wife.  ro was beautified with flowers and strings of small BJP flags all across and people wearing masks of PM Modi were seen. Fnavis is contesting polls from Nagpur South West seat. He is present MLA from seat. According to Election Commission, Fnavis will be facing off with as many as 19 or candidates, 10 of whom are independent candidates. Congress alliance with Shar Pawar led NCP, on or hand, has fielded Ashish Deshmukh from constituency against Fnavis.

Amit Shah campaigns for BJP in Maharashtra

Home Minister Amit Shah also campaigned for party in Maharashtra's Nandurbar district. Shah said Nandurbar has been included among 115 districts under Modi government's tribal development policy. "In next five years, Nandurbar will be developed as a premier tribal district in country and Maharashtra as number one state," he said. minister listed development works being undertaken by state government and Centre for tribal welfare." Modi government decided to construct a memorial for tribal freedom fighters. Similarly, Eklavya Model Schools have been started," he said.

Shah accused Congress of using 'ivasis' (tribals) only for votes and never working for ir development. He also alleged that Congress did t do anything for welfare of Or Backward Classes (OBC) in 55 years and said it was Modi government which gave constitutional status to OBC Commission.

Maharashtra Assembly polls

Maharashtra which has 288 Assembly seats will go to polls on 21 October 2019. Maharashtra assembly elections will be held in a single-phase and counting procedure would be conducted on October 24. Shiv Sena will contest for polls from 124 constituencies, BJP will contest from 150 and its allies will contest from 14 constituencies. Meanwhile, Congress in alliance with Shar Pawar's NCP, have decided to contest 125 seats each in 288-member assembly, leaving remaining 38 seats for its allies. Currently, BJP holds 122 seats while Shiv Sena holds 63 seats and Opposition held by UPA has 42 seats.
