Prakash Ambedkar's Vanchit Bahujan Aghi (VBA) is all set to field 20-25 Muslim candidates on its own for assembly polls, as an alliance with All India Majlis-e-Ittehul Muslimeen (MIM) has t yet been confirmed. challenge from third front in Maharashtra appears to be diminishing. VBA chief Prakash Ambedkar says his party will contest all 288 seats on its own and chances of an alliance with MIM were almost nil.

Good news for Congress

decision may seem like a piece of good news for Congress. party is aware of impact that a potential VBA-MIM front can have on its Dalit-Muslim vote base. In Lok Sabha polls, combine h split votes in several seats where margin of defeat for Congress was lower than votes polled by VBA or MIM candidate.
