Maharashtra Polls: Ex-CM's Son Upset After Congress Denies Him a Ticket From Nilanga, Latur.
Congress’ decision to field Abhay Salunke in Nilanga for the Maharashtra polls has upset ex-CM Shivajirao Patil Nilangekar’s son, Ashok Patil Nilangekar.

Latur: Congress party's decison to nominate Abhay Salunke for Nilanga seat in Latur district for upcoming Maharashtra elections has upset Ashok Patil Nilangekar, son of former chief minister Shivajirao Patil Nilangekar. On Saturday, party revealed its second list of candidates for November 20 elections, overlooking Ashok Patil Nilangekar, who lost to BJP 's Sambhaji Patil Nilangekar in 2019 polls.
“When Congress h no leers here, we stood with m. Today, party ignored us. I’ll speak to my supporters and decide our next course of action,” he told reporters, suggesting a rift in party unit in constituency.

Abhay Salunkhe, 46, who previously worked with Shiv Sena and MNS before joining Congress, will go up against incumbent MLA Sambhaji Patil Nilangekar, who has been renominated by BJP.
His wife Asmita Salunkhe said her husband has worked tirelessly for society for past 30 years.

“He has been committed to resolving issues faced by ordinary people in our constituency. Despite facing defeat in 2014 (when he contested on an MNS ticket), he remained undeterred, doubling down on his efforts. He spends more time on social work than at home,” she told PTI.
Supporters of Sambhaji Patil Nilangekar are optimistic about BJP candidate's chances of victory, citing his significant influence in region. y argue that his experience and political savvy make him best choice for party.
