The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has decided to field a candidate from the seat in Worli where Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray will be contesting the elections. According to reports, the NCP has refused to return the Shiv Sena's earlier favour. On Thursday night, the NCP declared the candidate's name- Suresh Mane.
NCP fails to return the favour
According to reports, in 2006, when NCP leader Supriya Sule had decided to contest the Rajya Sabha elections, Balasaheb Thackeray had refused to field any candidate against her. He had stated that he was proud that "Maharashtra's daughter is contesting the elections." The NCP has apparently refused to return the favour by fielding a candidate against Aaditya Thackeray. Further reports state that the NCP candidate, Suresh Mane will file his nomination on Friday.
