New Delhi: Jan Suraj chief Prashant Kishor has vowed to lift the liquor ban in Bihar "within an hour" if his party wins the upcoming elections. Kishor made the statement ahead of his party’s foundation day on October 2, criticizing the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)) for their governance.

“We have been preparing for the last two years. If the Jan Suraj government is formed, we will end the liquor ban within one hour,” Kishor told ANI.

His remarks come amid ongoing political tensions between RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar , particularly following Yadav’s claim that Kumar had apologized for aligning with the BJP -led National Democratic Alliance.

Kishor addressed Yadav’s recent public outreach yatra, saying, “My best wishes to him. At least he has come out of the house and is engaging with the public.”

He also criticized both Yadav and Kumar, stating, “This issue is between Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi Yadav. It doesn’t matter who apologized to whom; both have caused damage to Bihar .”

At a recent gathering in Bhojpur, Kishor launched a strong critique of Yadav, questioning his leadership qualifications and educational background.

“If someone’s parents were Chief Ministers and they couldn’t pass the 10th class, it reflects poorly on their approach to education,” Kishor remarked.

He further emphasized the irony of a “9th-class dropout” leading Bihar ’s development and urged Yadav to demonstrate his leadership through actions rather than relying on family connections.
