Shiv Sena-BJP alliance announcement in 2 days: Uddhav Thackeray

Shiv Sena and BJP will contest next month's Maharashtra Assembly elections jointly and an anuncement on seat-sharing formula will be me in next two days, Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray said on Friday.
Talking to reporters after a meeting with senior party leers ahe of elections slated next month, Thackeray said "formula" was decided during Lok Sabha elections, where two parties h a pre-poll alliance.

"It was media which spre reports that both parties will contest 135 seats each," Thackeray said.
Ahe of meeting, Sena secretary Anil Desai h said alliance would be anunced on or before BJP chief Amit Shah's Mumbai visit on September 22.

On reports that Sena will contest 126 seats and BJP 162 of total 288 seats in Assembly, Desai h declined to comment on figures, ding seat sharing will be as decided by Thackeray and Chief Minister Devendra Fnavis.

Diwakar Raote, senior Shiv Sena leer and minister in Maharashtra government h recently said alliance will break if Sena doesn't get to contest 50 per cent of seats.

A few days later Sena leer Sanjay Raut h said, "BJP will have to respect 50-50 formula that was decided in presence of Shah and Fnavis."
BJP and Shiv Sena contested 2014 state Assembly elections separately after y failed to arrive at a seat-sharing formula.

After BJP formed government in October 2014, Sena joined ministry same year.
