As India's Union Minister Smriti Irani is all geared up to contest elections on May 6 in Amethi (Uttar Pradesh), her close friend and Indian television producer Ekta Kapoor took to her Twitter handle to share a heartwarming montage of Irani campaigning.

She captioned the video by saying: "Way to go @smritiirani ! Iv seen u work ! Hard work n loyalty r ur biggest qualities!wish u all d best !!! Go kill it!!! May u rise n rise" [sic]

This is not the first time Ekta Kapoor has supported Smriti Irani on social media. On her birthday too, wishing the actress-turned-politician, Ekta called Smriti her 'soul sister' and went on to praise her wicked sense of humour. She wrote: "To my soul sister! Ur one of d loveliest ppl I know ! Although I know nothing about politics I know one thing ...u stand up for wats right n fight for anyone who is marginalised by society! Also I love ur wicked sense of humour!!! ;) maasi happie bday we wait for u in bby after ur hectic months of elections n campaigning!! Lots of love duaaas n wishes from ravioli n me." [sic]

In March, PM Modi tagged Parineeti Chopra, Sidharth Malhotra and Ekta Kapoor urging them to spread his 'VoteKar' campaign. Ekta's emphatic response to the Prime Minister’s clarion call garnered a lot of attention on social media. Ekta replied, “Dear Hon'ble Prime Minister, I will strive to do the best within my capacity to encourage people to vote. It’s a privilege to be able to help strengthen our democracy! #VoteKar.”
