Mumbai: Worli is one of most important constituencies of Mumbai for upcoming Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024 as re is going to be massive showdown between Aitya Thackeray and Milind Deora, both Members of Parliament of two different factions of Shiv Sena. Milind Deora threw an open debate challenge at Aitya Thackeray, it has been 48 hours since and latter has not responded to same.

Milind Deora threw an open date challenge on his Worli MP competitor Aitya Thackeray ahe of upcoming Maharashtra Elections. debate challenge was given to Thackeray on November 12 and 48 hours later, Thackeray has not responded to same. In a fresh post on ‘X’, Milind Deora has taken a jibe at Aitya Thackeray for keeping silent on challenge offer.

In a post on ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter), Milind Deora said, “It’s been 48 hours since I invited #Worli’s MLA to a debate, yet no response. What happened to ‘Save Democracy’ brige?.”
Milind Deora vs Aitya Thackeray: Open Debate Challenge
political tussle began after Milind Deora threw a challenge of an open debate at Aitya Thackeray after latter raised issue of two similar debates being cancelled and also said that ‘someone who is scared of an open debate with rival candidates is not worthy of being in any public forum, Parliament being highest.’

In a post dressed to Aitya on ‘X’, Milind Deora said, “Aitya, considering you think “someone who is scared of an open debate with rival candidates is not worthy of being in any public forum”, I invite you to have an open debate about future of Worli, Mumbai & Maharashtra. Let’s also talk about @mybmc’s 30-year misgovernance, Mumbai Metro delays, Mahalaxmi Racecourse & Sachin Vaze scandal’s impact on Maharashtra’s economy. Worlikars should decide wher ‘speed breaker politics’ or ‘progress without speed limits’ is best way forward for our city & state.”

In Opposition Maha Vikas Aghi, Congress has fielded 101 candidates, Shiv Sena (UBT) led by Uddhav Thackeray has 95 candidates in fray and NCP (Sharchandra Pawar) has 86 candidates.

In some constituencies, re would be friendly fights between allies. Of smaller parties, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has fielded 237 candidates and All India Majlis-e-Ittehul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has 17 candidates in fray.
