2 Bollywood Action Films Set Up Box Office Clash With Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 On Independence Day

Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa: The Rule is all set to hit the big screens during the Independence Day weekend. The Sukumar directorial is a follow up to his blockbuster 2021 release and has huge expectations riding on it. While it was expected that Pushpa 2 would enjoy a solo run at the box office, given the hype surrounding it, not one but two Bollywood films have set up a clash with the Allu Arjun starrer.

John Abraham announces Vedaa release date

Director-producer Nikkhil Advani, who is known for Kal Ho Naa Ho, D-Day, Batla House and others, will bring to screens his upcoming action film Vedaa, staring John Abraham and Sharvari, on August 15. JOhn shared a poster of the film announcing its release date. "This Independence Day, woh aa rahe hain… Insaaf ki jung ladne! #Vedaa releasing in cinemas on 15th August (sic)," he wrote in the caption of his post.

The film, which had locked its release date for July 12 this year has been postponed to August 15 now. It marks third collaboration between Nikkhil and John. It’s their next film together after Batla House, which released in 2019.

Singham 3 and Pushpa 2 to arrive on I-Day 2024

Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn starrer Singham Again is scheduled to release on August 15. While updates from the makers have been limited, the film's postponement has not been announced yet. On the other hand, Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 will hit the big screens on August 15 as scheduled. The movie will see Allu Arjun in the title role alongside Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil.
