40 Years A Prisoner documentary’s trailer is making a lot of ise on social media. It revolves around Philadelphia based MOVE organisation and raid which was led by police. This raid was extremely controversial and had come under scanner. MOVE documentary tells story of Mike Africa Jr and how his parents were arrested in raid.

40 Years A Prisoner documentary

40 Years A Prisoner documentary sheds light on most controversial raid which was carried out by police on MOVE organisation. raid was carried out in 1978. A shootout also took place during raid which killed one of police offers called James Ramp. As many as nine members of MOVE organisation were arrested and charged with third-degree murder.

Prosecutors on case claimed that MOVE members killed Ramo while defence claimed that he died in firing done by police. re was a huge outcry over raid. A lot of racial unrest followed in state post this. 

MOVE documentary tells story through Mike Africa Jr’s perspective and how he has been fighting for years to prove that his parents were incent. In trailer of documentary, he is heard saying that when his mor was being arrested, she was just due to give birth to him. He also said that he was born in prison. He also wants to find out truth about what had happened that day.

documentary is directed by Tommy Oliver who is a native of Philadelphia. film includes eyewitnesses and even foot from foot. Mayor Ed Rendell who was city’s attorney for case was also interviewed for MOVE documentary. MOVE is an organisation based in Philadelphia. y believe in principles of de-civilization and going back to nature to leas ir lives. members of this organisation were black people. 

40 Years A Prisoner is going to premiere on December 9, 2020. time of premier as on HBO website is 10:32 PM ET. documentary is available for streaming on HBO and HBO Max.
