Aashiq Abu reprimands 'fanatics' for destroying 'Minnal Murali' sets

Aashiq Abu, in a media report, stated that the government must take strict action against the religious fanatics who destroyed the sets of the Minnal Murali.

Aashiq Abu on Monday reacted on religious fanatics destroying Tovi Thomas starrer Minnal Murali's set. Condemning vandalism, Aashiq Abu stated that Malayalam film industry is with makers, and made it clear that y intend to fight against vandalism. He, in media interview, reprimanded perpetrators and urged government to take strict actions against m. Besides Aashiq Abu, or actors like Rima Kallingal and lead actor of Minnal Murali, Tovi Thomas have expressed ir anger on act of vandalism.

On Monday, media reports revealed that a group of religious fanatics destroyed sets of Malayalam film Minnal Murali. set was erected in Kalady to shoot climax sequence of upcomer with lead actor Tovi Thomas. shoot that was supposed to end by March got extended due to on-going lockdown. Disappointed by attack, Minnal Murali's lead actor Tovi Thomas took to social media. He condemned incident and wrote:

"Minnal Murali’s first schedule at Wayanad had been in progress when set for second schedule began construction at Kalady. It was carried out by art director Manu Jagad and team, under special instructions by stunt choreographer Vlad Rimburg. For this, we had rightful permissions from concerned authorities. And as we were about to start shooting in this set – which was built on a considerable cost, whole country went into lockdown, following which our shoot was paused, just like all ors’. It is during this prevailing uncertainty that this contractual set was destroyed by a group of racialists yesterday. reasons y cite for this unceremonious act are t understood to our senses till w. We’ve heard of movie sets being vandalised by religious fanatics in rrn parts of India. w, it’s happening to us right here. It has caused us a lot of distress, and even more of anxiety. We have decided to go ahead with legal proceedings." (sic)

Meanwhile, Aashiq Abu is currently busy with pre-production work of his upcoming movie with Soubin Shahir. untitled film will see Soubin in role of a celestial being. Touted to be a fantasy thriller, Aashiq Abu directorial is written by Muhsin Parari of Virus (2019) fame.
