Actor Soumitra Chatterjee extremely 'critical'; hospital refutes passing away claims

health condition of veteran actor Soumitra Chatterjee continued to be "critical" on Tuesday, with doctors at hospital, where he is undergoing treatment, w planning to put him on invasive ventilation. 85-year-old spian's oxygen saturation level did t improve despite him undergoing Bilevel positive airway pressure rapy, one of senior doctors treating him said.
"Mr Chatterjee is t keeping very well. He is still in a drowsy, confusional state. His neurological condition has shown change in last two days. We are planning to put him on invasive ventilation," doctor said.

critically acclaimed actor was mitted to hospital on October 6 after he tested positive for COVID-19. He h to be shifted to ITU as his condition turned critical. A team of 15 doctors is overseeing him at hospital.

Chatterjee has been running a high fever since Sunday afteron. Doctors are planning to conduct ar test to check if high fever was due to COVID-19 infection. An MRI conducted on Chatterjee, however, has t revealed any structural defect.
On Friday, Chatterjee h to be shifted to ITU after he experienced restlessness. He was in an "acute confusional st". Soumitra Chatterjee was mitted to private hospital on Tuesday after he tested positive for COVID-19. actor's daughter also spoke about his health. She said his vital health parameters are rmal.

"As per doctors' team attending to my far, he is maintaining his vital parameters and is stable on this account. His blood pressure is rmal and he is t requiring oxygen ministration at moment," Basu said in a statement.
