The song, released by Coke Studio Bharat, is currently the biggest trend on Instagram and other social media apps. The Gujarati song rose to fame during the festival of Navratri. The song is composed and vocalised by Achint Thakur along with Aditya Gadhvi.
Meet the singers behind the viral track Khalasi
Aditya Gadhvi, the singer of the viral song, rose to fame after featuring in a few reality shows. The singer also got critical acclaim for giving his voice to the anthem for the IPL team Gujarat Titans. He has been a playback singer in several Gujarati films like Ventilator, Hellaro, Var Padharavo and Luv Ni Love Storys. The singer has shared the stage with Oscar award-nominated vocalist AR Rahman.

Along with Aditya Gadhvi, the song is also sung and composed by Achint Thakur. He is most popular for crooning to and composing the viral track from the Sony Liv show Scam 1992: The Harsshad Mehta Story as well as the Netflix series Scoop. He is also the composer behind the recent recreation of Yeh Ek Zindagi Kaafi Nahi Hai, which featured in the Vasan Bala film Monica O My Darling.

The song is written by Saumya Joshi. The official synopsis reads, “#Khalasi tells the tale of the limitless sailor who has set out to explore through the shores of Gujarat. The song speaks of his tenuous, adventurous voyage, his delightful experiences and the enthusiasm with which he takes on life while he is sailing away."

Coke Studio songs have often become viral sensations on social media. Previously Ali Sethi's song Pasoori took the internet by storm. The song was recently remade in Hindi for the Kartik Aaryan starrer movie Satyapem Ki Katha. Arijit Singh lent his voice to the remake of the song.
