Internet sensation Ranu Mondal, who became popular on social media after her video crooning legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar's "Ek Pyaar Ka Nagma Hai" at a railway platform went viral, legendary singer and India's nightingale Lata Mangeshkar in an interview said that she feels fortunate if anyone is being benefited from her name and work but also feels that 'imitation is t reliable and durable companion for success'.

Reacting to this comment of Lata Mangeshkar, Apurva Asrani who won a National Award in 2001 for Best Editing for Snip! (a bilingual comedy directed by Sunhil Sippy), took to his Twitter handle and wrote that Lata ji's statement lacked 'grace'. Read his full tweet below -

Lata Mangeshkar on Ranu Mondal's newly found fame

As per media reports, Lata Mangeshkar said that by singing her song, or Kishore Kumar's song or Mohammad Rafi's song aspiring singers can get short-term attention, but it won't last. Lata Mangeshkar reported furr advised aspiring singers to be original and find ir own song. She said while one should definitely sing evergreen songs by her and her colleagues, after a point of time y should have ir own individuality.

“So many children sing my songs so beautifully. But how many of m are remembered after first flush of success? I only kw of Sunidhi Chauhan and Shreya Ghosal. Be original. By all means, sing evergreen songs by me and my colleagues. But after a point singer must seek and find his or her own song," Lata Mangeshkar said in a media interaction.

Lata Mangeshkar gave an example of her own sister-veteran singer Asha Bhosle and said that had t she insisted on singing in her own style, she would have remained in her shadow forever. Lata Mangeshkar said that Asha Bhosle is biggest example of how far individuality can take one's talent to.

Mondal's video was shared on a Facebook p called 'BarpetaTown place of peace' on July 28. video has collected over four million till w. Music composer-actor Himesh Reshammiya has recorded a song titled "Teri Meri Kahani" with Mondal. He revealed that song will feature in his upcoming film "Happy Hardy and Heer".

Thanks for all your love and support," composer-singer captioned video shot during his recording session with Ranu. "Happy Hardy and Heer" is produced by EYKA Films and HR Musik Limited.
