Arunachal Gorkha body files NHRC plaint against Anushka Sharma for 'sexist slur' in Paatal Lok
A Gorkha association in Arunachal Pradesh has filed a complaint with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) against actor Anuskha Sharma for an alleged "sexist slur" on the Gorkha community in one of the scenes of the web series 'Paatal Lok' produced by her.

complaint was filed recently by Bikash Bhattarai, Namsai unit president of All Arunachal Presh Gorkha Youth Association (AAPGYA).

A "sexist slur" used against a woman character in second episode of web series is a "direct insult to Nepali-speaking people", association stated in complaint.
" sexist slur has hurt sentiments of Gorkha community and Nepali-speaking people across country," AAPGYA said.

It demanded that eir web series be stopped from being aired or team of 'Paatal Lok' apologise to Gorkhali people.
" series has hurt Nepali community and re is alrey a strong protest against it on social media for presenting an insulting, demeaning and derogatory dialogue," group stated in its complaint.

AAPGYA state unit president Shyam Ghatani said, "t only should Nepali community, but those in film industry also condemn such direct insult me to millions of people who speak Nepali as ir common langu".
association has urged NHRC and Union Ministry of Mirity Affairs to come up with a "strong and concrete" decision on matter.

Bharatiya Gorkha Yuva Parisangh has also started an online petition demanding that Amazon should mute slur, blur subtitles and uplo an edited video with an apology and a disclaimer.
