AR Rahman Shares 1st Post After Divorce From Wife Saira, Wins International Award For Aadujeevitham

AR Rahman shocked his fans after announcing his divorce from his wife Saira Banu. The Oscar-winning singer ended his 29-year-long marriage and asked his fans for privacy. Since his post regarding the separation, the singer has remained tight-lipped and was not even active on social media. However, on early Friday, he shared the first post, and it was related to his recent work in the Malayalam film industry.

AR Rahman celebrates his big win at Hollywood Music In Media Awards 2024  

The composer is seemingly keeping his social media platforms professional now as early today he dropped a post celebrating his win at an international award event. On Thursday, Rahman won the Best Score - Foreign Language Film award at the Hollywood Music In Media Awards 2024 for his work in Aadujeevitham (The Goat Life), starring Prithviraj Sukumaran. This award came a day after he announced his separation from Saira.

Taking to his X handle, Rahman shared a news article on the full list of winners at the award event and wrote, "Score—Independent Film (Foreign Language), The Goat Life—A. R. Rahman."

Soon after he dropped the post, his fans flooded the comment section with congratulatory messages. A user wrote, "@arrahman's score for #TheGoatLife is a testament to his genius. Music that breathes life into cinema! #ARRahman #OscarWorthy." Another wrote, "Congratulations sir. Sending you and your family loads of love and duas. Stay blessed sir." The third user wrote, "Amazing success and lot of achievement".

He also posted a video on Thursday evening, thanking the film’s team and fans for standing by him. He said, “It’s an incredible honour to receive this award for Best Score for a foreign language film, The Goat Life. I am deeply grateful to the Hollywood Music and Media Awards for recognising the score. This project was a labour of love, and I share this moment with my amazing team of musicians and technicians, the director Blessy, and everyone who believed the vision we brought to life.”

On Tuesday, AR Rahman released a statement that reads, "We had hoped to reach the grand thirty, but all things, it seems, carry an unseen end. Even the throne of God might tremble at the weight of broken hearts. Yet, in this shattering, we seek meaning, though the pieces may not find their place again. To our friends, thank you for your kindness and for respecting our privacy as we walk through this fragile chapter.”

Their lawyer also opened up about the estranged couple's decision and said that they are aiming for an amicable divorce.
