The Weeknd did not show up to the Super Bowl in bandages, as he has in his latest public appearances. However, he did have an entire field of backup dancers copying the look wearing all black with red jackets and bandaged faces. The Weeknd kicked off his performance at the Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday (7FEB2021) wearing his signature red blazer and sunglasses.
The pop star ran through his hits like "Can't Feel My Face," "The Hills" and "Earned It." But the show came to life toward the end of performance when he and dozens of his dancers hit the field to perform the explosive hit "Blinding Lights," giving off flash mob vibes.

The pop star has previously worn bandages on his face and performed with his face covered during the American Music Awards. He has said that the look makes a statement on the absurdity of stars manipulating their physical appearance through plastic surgery.
