A video of an elephant calf enjoying mud bath at Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve in Mhya Presh has delighted internet. Shared by National Park on its official Twitter handle, 12-second clip shows little tusker playing by showering mud on his body from trunk, in an apparent rmoregulatory behaviour often ticed in Asian elephants. park wrote in caption that activity soos insect bites and acts a sunscreen for mammal.

Fond of a mud wallow

Fond of a mud wallow or some water source, elephants usually love to take bath in or spray mselves with sand to get rid of parasites and ticks, as per wildlife reports. Some herd of elephants even prefer to enjoy joyful mud wallowing in wet sandpits to build a natural defence on ir skin against sun. Asian elephants are often witnessed throwing water at each or as a form of playing and sign of affection.
