Hum Saath Saath Hain released on November 5, 1999 was a popular family drama film of its era produced by Rajshri Productions. The film gained fan following because of its cast and relatable story. The cast of the film had Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Mohnish Bahl, Karisma Kapoor, Sonali Bendre, Alok Nath, Reema Lagoo, Tabu, Shakti Kapoor and many more. The film captured the essence of being a part of a joint family and what it is like celebrating festivals and events with them. Lesser known facts about Hum Saath Saath Hain
1. It was during the shoot of this film that Saif Ali Khan, Salman Khan, Sonali Bendre and Tabu went out hunting in a distant forest in Rajasthan and got involved in the infamous blackbuck poaching case. Salman Khan pleaded not guilty for the case.

2. Tabu’s role was initially offered to Madhuri Dixit, but she refused. According to a report, the actress stepped out because she did not want to play the sister-in-law to Salman and Saif. Aishwarya Rai was also offered a role but it did not materialise. Despite so many refusals, the director, Sooraj Barjatya, managed to bring together an amazing cast.

3. The film’s songs carry influence from the previous films of the same director. The song Sunoji Dulhan from the film has a similar tune as Didi Tera Devar Deewana from Hum Apke Hain Koun. A few lyrics sung by the children in the same song also carries a similar tune as Maay Ni Maay from Hum Apke Hain Koun as well.

4. The film was released on the eve of Diwali in 1999. It opened with a bang on the silver screens. Coke bagged the publicity rights to the film and spent around ₹12.5 million on the promotions of the film.
5. The film would have been released way earlier but was delayed due to its music process. The music director, Raamlaxman was convinced that he would not be able to do justice to the film. He had to compose almost 27 tunes out of which seven were finally used.
