Rajnikanth's newest film's poster revealed; Murugadoss teases 'Darbar'
As a Diwali treat for fans, director A R Murugadoss has released a new poster of his movie 'Darbar' featuring Rajnikanth; with the veteran actor wielding a gun

The poster of Tamil film maker Murugadoss' new film Darbar featuring actor Rajinikanth has been revealed by the director. In the film, actor Rajinikanth plays the role of a cop, almost 27 years after he played a policeman in the1992 film Pandiyan. The poster has the actor wearing shades and jacket and wielding a gun.
Back with a bang
The director of the movie, A R Murugadoss, took to Twitter and announced the unveiling of the poster minutes before sharing the picture. “For all you Thalaivar fans out there, get ready for a stylish Darbar Deepavali Wishes poster in a few minutes. #Darbar #HappyDeepavaliFolks”, Murugadoss tweeted. As seen in the comments, the anticipation among Rajnikanth fans peaked while waiting for the post.

As expected, the poster went viral within minutes from its release. Rajinikanth looks stylish as Aditya Arunachalam in the poster. Trade analyst and film critic, Taran Adarsh, also retweeted the poster.

Darbar, produced by Lyca Production, is directed by A R Murugadoss and is the first collaboration between Rajinikanth and the Ghajini director. In an interview with a newspaper, Murugadoss assured that Darbar will be a commercial film catering to people of all age groups. The director also revealed that the film will not have any connection with politics even though it is reported that superstar Rajnikanth will announce his own political party after the film's release. Darbar is set to release on Pongal 2020.

What's next for Rajinikanth?
Rajinikanth has another film scheduled to release in the year 2020. The film, titled Thalaivar 168, is to be made by Viswasam director Siruthai Siva and produced under the banner Sun Pictures. In 2018, Rajinikanth was seen in Kaala and 2.0, which was a sequel to his 2010 hit Enthiran. This year, Rajinikanth featured in Karthik Subbaraj's Petta, which invoked his goon persona from his early films.
