Amitabh Bachchan gave a fitting tribute to Kader Khan as the veteran actor-writer breathed his last in Canada on Monday.
Big B called Khan’s passing a ‘sad depressing news’ and conveyed his prayers and condolences. The actor called Khan a ‘brilliant stage artist’ and ‘most compassionate and accomplished talent on film’. Khan had written the dialogues or screenplays of many of Bachchan’s hits and the latter credited him for being a ‘writer of eminence.’ The ‘Baghban’ star concluded his post by terming Khan as a ‘delightful company’ and a mathematician.
Khan was the writer of dialogues or full screenplay of several of Bachchan’s successful films like ‘Amar Akbar Anthony', ‘Coolie', ‘Muqaddar Ka Sikandar', ‘Mr. Natwarlal', ‘Khoon Pasina', ‘Do Aur Do Paanch', ‘Satte Pe Satta', ‘Inquilab', ‘Giraftaar', ‘Hum' and ‘Agneepath.’
Amitabh Bachchan was among the few who had conveyed his prayers for the health of Kader Khan when reports of his hospitalisation had surfaced a few days ago. Big B had used similar words then to his tribute on Tuesday and wrote how he had seen him perform on stage and welcomed him and his ‘prolific’ writing in his films. Khan was also a Libran like Amitabh Bachchan and Big B had written that he even taught Mathematics.
Kader passed away at the age of 81 at a hospital in Canada on December 31, his son Sarfaraz confirmed. He was reportedly suffering from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, a degenerative disease that leads to loss of balance, difficulty in walking and dementia. Khan featured in over 300 films in the course of over four-decade long career.
